I’ll admit that Christmas 2020 will be very different from all previous (and, we hope, all future) Christmases. Fox and I will not be hosting our annual holiday party for 60-plus guests this year. But we will have cookies! And to prove this point, here are seven holiday-worthy cookie recipes for you to try:
Holiday Cookie Roundup
Lemon Chocolate Chip Cookies. Betcha can’t eat just one of these citrus-kissed creations! Want the recipe? Click here.
Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies. These Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies have a crisp edge and a soft, fragrant center. Make them once, and you’ll make them again and again. They are delicious at Christmastime or any time. Click here for the easy recipe:
Orange Cognac Cookies. Wowzers! That’s not a real word, but it seems the best description for these holiday treats. They’re light, buttery, and perfectly perfumed with Grand Marnier. Santa loves ’em, as do his overworked-and-underpaid elves. I think you’ll love ’em, too. They are incredibly easy to make. Click here for the recipe.
Edible Image Christmas Cookies. I won’t lie to you. These cookies were A LOT of work! But they were worth the trouble in terms of looks and taste! Feeling brave? Click here the recipe.
Merveilles (French Christmas Cookies). Thanks to Nova Ethel Metzger Jacobs (a/k/a The Christmas Cookie Queen; a/k/a my paternal grandmother), I fell in love with Merveilles when I was a kid. Who can resist these light, airy, orange zest-scented ribbons that are finished with a blizzard of confectioners’ sugar? Although I serve Merveilles exclusively at Christmastime, just as my grandmother did, they are available the year round in their 18th-century birthplace: the South of France. They are surprisingly easy to make. Want the recipe? Click here.
Almond Butter Cookies. These are fabulous in every way: tender-crisp, beautifully-perfumed, and subtly-sweet. They are also gluten-free, and a breeze to make! Click here for the recipe.
Limoncello Cookies. These are simply sugar cookies dipped in Limoncello-infused icing, and topped with candied lemon rounds. The rounds are no trouble to make — just simmer some lemon slices in sugar and water until they become soft and sensuous. Click here for the recipe.

I just watched all the Binky videos. All I can say is GOOD JOB! You took really good care of her. I’ve fostered kittens before, so I know how nerve wracking it can be when they are sick. Avery is wonderful with her. So great they are best friends. And…I’m so glad you took care of the mother cat too and got her spayed. Thanks for the cookie recipes too! Merry Christmas!

I have a copy of your orange biscotti recipe, but not the video. It says to cut the baked loaves into 1/2″ slices and place on baking sheet, cut side down. Trying to figure out how the slices can have only one cut side.
