BECAUSE THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IS AROUND THE CORNER, I’ve put together a multiple-choice Presidential Quiz. But instead of typical history-book-type questions, this quiz deals with food and garden trivia:
To take the quiz, click the “Take Our Quiz Now” button, just answer the questions. After you submit your answers, you’ll be given a score.Β The first 3 people to score 100% will receive a bag of fragrant Narcissus bulbs.Β Another winner, chosen at random regardless of score, will also receive a bag of bulbs.
Answers will be revealed and winners will be announced on election day: Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

I researched a number of those answers and was surprised to do so poorly. I wonder about the accuracy of the interwebs. I was using the White House website, so hoped that would be a boost for accuracy!

I pushed the wrong button and did not even fill out one question before getting a score of 0.

69%….. Lots of interesting questions that now I’m going to do some research to find out more information. I do love that Michelle Obama has revived the White House garden and given a lot of support to growing your own food and teaching kids about gardening!

Julie S says
I guessed…but it was fun…made me want to know the answers to these questions!!
Dale says
100%, but I verified a couple of the answers before submitting the quiz. I thought the one about Washington’s teeth was a trick one because recent research has found the following:
” A forensic anthropologist from the University of Pittsburgh came to the dental museum, which is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, to supervise laser scans on one of the four known sets of Washington’s dentures. The dentures are made from gold, ivory, lead, human and animal teeth (horse and donkey teeth were common components).”
The only reason I had a clue about the wooden dentures myth was from reading the clever children’s book, George Washington’s Teeth by Deborah Chandra, which I highly recommend for all ages. Can you tell I’m a retired elementary school media specialist?
Victoria says
I got 92% and I KNOW Washington did NOT have wooden teeth π Fun quiz – thanks! π
Marilou says
I was disappointed in my performance. I got 85%. I should have done better. I did not do any research; however I think it is a poor excuse as I have always had an interest in historical data. Ah, well so be it!
