Reasons To Be Cheerful

BY Kevin Lee Jacobs | March 20, 2010 15 Comments

Last updated on December 2nd, 2011

I HAVE THREE REASONS to be cheerful today. First, after her nasty — and frightening — bout with Lyme-disease, Lily the Beagle is definitely feeling better. Next, it’s the first day of spring, and it looks and feels like it here too. And last but by no means least, today marks…drum-roll please… the one year anniversary of A Garden For The House!

After planting this little gardening blog on March 20, 2009, it has grown from 200 “unique” visitors per month to over 2,200! And that’s without any advertising, save for the kind souls who have spread the word.

Thank you everyone, for visiting me regularly. You are the best gardening family anyone could have.

Erin-, Yolanda-, Katreader- and Justin – Thank you so much. Lily and I did indeed spend the day outdoors, one of us romped and sniffed, while the other transplanted pachysandra and edged the rose garden. (Hint: Look for a post on “edging” very soon!)

Adele – so glad you jumped aboard this train, too!

    Brenda – “…an informational Happy Place…” I like that!

Judy – The heirloom tulips you gave me are popping up in the Serpentine Garden. Perhaps you can see them for real this year!
