BRRRR…what else can you say when it’s -12F (-24C) outside, and ice has formed on the inside of your office windows? Maybe it’s time for a reader weather-report. Tell me, are you wearing T-shirts and shorts these days…or sweaters and thermal long-johns?

Oh my, that's not good! I am wearing long johns, multiple layers, and a hat and fingerless gloves, inside the house. It has been in the low teens for a week, dipping into the single digits overnight. I would consider putting up plastic sheeting on your windows:) It helps a lot.
Kevin Lee Jacobs says
Terry – single digits sounds downright balmy to me just now.
Plastic sheeting is definitely in order! Oh, the joys of living in a 185 year old house, complete with the original windows.
Janis in Chicago says
Where I am it's sweater weather (indoors). We're in a thaw right now but just barely, with a high of 34. But snow is on its way (again).
Katreader says
I wear t-shirts…but with a long sleeved shirt or turtleneck underneath and a sweatshirt or hoodie over it…or my heavy robe. We've been having a heat wave of temperature highs getting to the almost mid 30's! But this weekend will be in the teens. We were in the negatives and I'm sure we will be again!
Katreader says
PS I redid the windows in my 1930 home-3 more years and they'll be paid off-but the heating benefit is sooooo worth it. Sorry ropes, weights, and fragile glass.
Kevin Lee Jacobs says
Katreader – Replacing your old windows was a wise decision. I'll bet they are the kind you can tilt inward to clean.
Because there are 52 windows in this old house, the cost of replacing them would be more than I can bear. In fact, I shudder to think of the cost.
Katreader says
I replaced 32 of them…and a back door and storm door…and that wasn't all of the windows! That's why it's taking 10 years to pay off the loan. But they are the kind you can tilt in to clean! Umm. Not that I've done that recently.
