In this, my first actual “vlog,” you’ll meet Avery’s BFF Fergus. You will also find some painting, polishing, potting, and baking projects that I’m planning to share with you in the coming days:
Thanks for watching! The “notification bell” is on my YouTube channel.
Can’t watch videos on your computer? Here’s the run-down:
Radiator pipe in the entrance hall. What an eye-sore! This week I’ll scrape off the peeling paint, and then prime and paint the pipe. (Update: mission accomplished!)
Houseplants. Chilly nighttime temperatures have reminded me that it’s time to bring my houseplants indoors. I’ll show you how I prepare these potted guests for life in the window garden.
More home-improvement. The double doors in my entrance hall are begging to be cleaned and polished. I’ll tackle the job with mineral spirits and mineral oil, and then share the results with you.
Kitchen fun. I hope you like pumpkin bread, because I’m planning to film my mother’s uniquely-delicious version for you!

Thanks for reminding me to water my plants in the Apricot bathroom!! I always forget those. I live in an old house too; it was a doctor’s residence and office. It’s 4500 sq. feet and too big to live in by myself so I rent two apartments out. I have to name the bedrooms and bathrooms with a color so that I can tell someone where it is. I call this place “Pick-a -door”. You just come in and pick a door.

Hi Kevin!
I’m really interested to see how you will clean your doors. I need to clean mine and I’m excited about you motivating me!! I didn’t know I would get a notification when you post a new video. I’m checking out YouTube next.
Have a great day!
Love. Sandy

Happy birthday, Mom.
Will make some of your Pumpkin Bread today – love pumpkin all year long.
Took some Pumpkin Muffins across the street to my new neighbor and visited with her 2 border collies and 2 laying hens in the backyard. Right now I’m going for a long hike in our drizzly weather – rain pants, weather proof shoes and hooded jacket. Hot coffee and chocolate snack in the waist pack…

I enjoyed the video and especially of the dogs playing and loving on you when you were down on the floor. I so appreciate all your videos and it seems I always learn something from watching them. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your planned projects. Look forward to seeing the improvements.

Watching you cavorting with the doggies an listening to the adventures in you life are great fun. Out here on the Central Illinois Prairie where our McLean County soil is known as black gold, we are taking down the vegetable garden. As of today, we think our beloved hummers have started their journey south. They feasted on the many treats in our patio garden.

I e been interested in the use of mineral spirits on wood….hurry up and post it, lol. I’m currently working on doing my kitchen cabinets using home made wipe on poly. The results are phenomenal. But I’m interested to see if the mi real spirits idea will work on some oak chairs I bought.

Love the new “puppy.” I see someone like to lean/sit on the back pillows. Looks like home.

I somehow stumbled across your informative & arresting cooking instructions, namely the pumpkin souffle which I plan to make soon! Can’t wait!!! You somehow, in the best ways, remind me of my family members! something about your clear articulation (I come from a family of teachers), clarity–using photos for each step, and your sense of joy, make for a charming heartwarming experience. I like how you use words like dump it in or whatever, found myself smiling as I watched your video on spoon bread. You made my day!
