If you haven’t seen Garden Design magazine yet, the winter issue is a great one to start off with! Shall I tell you why?
There are no ads in Garden Design. Yes — you read that right — NO ADS. Just 148 pages of beautiful gardens and plants delivered to you 4 times each year. To me, the periodical seems more like a book than a magazine.
Many of the stories unfold over 8 to 20 pages. So you get the behind-the-scenes look at the topics you care about most — design with plants, landscape design, container gardens, kitchen gardens, houseplants, and more.
Of course the photography is stunning. Jumbo-size photos permit us to see the details of gardens that make them great.
And you thought I took good pictures of my gardens.
Ready for a hot deal? My website readers get their first issue free when they subscribe! Just go to www.gardendesign.com/kevin or call (855) 624-5110 and tell ’em Kevin Lee Jacobs sent you.

I subscribed about 3 months ago. It’s a drool-worthy array of garden delights one can hold in the hand. High quality paper and vivid photography. Two thumbs up.

Hi Beverly – Yes, drool-worthy. (And BTW, I winter-sowed the seeds you sent. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!)

I love your blog and now have my entire family hooked on it. We are all garden growers/lovers. Thanks for just being you and sharing with all of us!!

I so hope the little Primulas will sprout for you, Kevin! They did extremely well for me in 2016. My 15 winter sowing jugs went outside January 22 and got rained on immediately. The number 15 is how many jugs fit snugly into a strange, old cast-iron tray kept in my shed for just this purpose. (I do have to tip out excess water occasionally.) Among this year’s varieties, I am most hopeful about Clematis viorna, the north American native “Vase Vine”…closely followed by salmon pink Oriental Poppies. Coming at a time when little else about the garden is entertaining, Winter Sowing is a perfect pastime and good investment for the upcoming growing season. You “planted the seed” for this wonderful strategy that has been amazingly productive!

Kevin watched your video on Utube for the first time and almost split my sides laughing. Have you seen the closed captioning? It is so screwed up that it is hilarious. Think I’ll just stick to enjoying your blog. Good luck! Jeanne
