This recipe for Fruity Pebbles Bars comes to us from Fred and Wilma Flintstone of Bedrock, New York. The bars are sweet, gooey, and as colorful as a basket of Easter eggs. They are a cinch to make in just 5 minutes. All you need is a bowl, a spatula, and a baking dish!

To start, drop 4 tablespoons of butter (salted or unsalted) into a large, microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave the butter on “high” until it melts — about 60 seconds.
While the butter is melting, remove and reserve 2 cups of mini marshmallows from a 10-ounce bag.
Add the remaining marshmallows to the butter…
And microwave them on “high” until they melt — 60-90 seconds. Use a spatula to gently stir the marshmallows into the butter.
Now pour 6 honking cups of Fruity Pebbles into the bowl…
And stir until the pebbles are coated with the sticky marshmallow mixture.
Fold in the reserved 2 cups of marshmallows.
Scoop the works into a greased 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch square pan, and gently pack it down with greased knuckles. Let cool for 1-2 hours.
While the Fruity Pebbles Bars are setting up, take your friends Betty and Barney for a walk.
You’re looking at a pan of gluten-free decadence, baby. Once the confetti cluster has cooled, cut it into 16 squares, and enjoy!
Fruity Pebbles Bars are yabba dabba doo-delicious! For the best taste and texture, serve them on the same day you make them.
I think Fruity Pebbles Bars are infinitely better-tasting and definitely more colorful than Rice Krispies Treats. You, of course, might have a different opinion!

Hi SueEllen – I get by with a little help from my Fisher Price friends!

Hi Kevin,
I made these recently with colored rice krispies. We pressed the ‘batter’ onto a cookie sheet and cut out rounds with a glass. They made great “cookies”! My little helper ate all the scraps immediately.
Thanks, as always for your great ideas! Love ya right back!

Hi Jean – Great idea! Thank you!

Good morning Kevin and your homehold.
I love your emails. I make the cocoa pebbles version too. Less sugar!
Do you still have Binky?
Happy Easter!
Kevin Lee Jacobs says
Hi Brenda – Ooh, Cocoa Pebbles. Must try! And yes, baby Binky is thriving. Our 2 other cats — Tiger and Camille — have now accepted her. No more hissing!

About 20 years ago I remember hearing a very similar recipe to this on a local radio station out of Shenandoah IA. I don’t think that station has that program on anymore, but it was done by two local older ladies. I loved listening to it. Thanks for reminding me of it and a very yummy recipe that I need to make again!

I have the recipe printed and I’m going to the store to get the cereal. Thanks ever. Looking forward to giving this a try. xoxo

Hi Cynthia – Fruity Pebbles have a long history. The cereal has been around since 1971!
Hi Sandra – I hope the bars turn out deliciously for you!
Sandra says
Oh my, Kevin. I did make these and they are definitely delicious. I like them better than the tried and true Rice Crispy Squares. Thanks for the recipe. Never thought of using another kind of cereal. They were gone in 2days just by me. Ha! Could not leave them alone. xoxo
