Do you remember the sick feral kitten we rescued last month? She’s growing stronger by the minute. Last week, we decided it was time for baby Binky to meet Avery, our 3-year-old rescue dog. How’d they get along? See for yourself in this video update:
Thank you for watching. As mentioned in the video, I love to watch Binky and Avery’s antics. Avery is the new mother! xKevin

Binky looks wonderful, and Avery is so-o-o-o-o gentle!
It’s been my experience that cats either don’t like the canned foods – expensive or not – or they tire of them quickly. I’ve had much better luck with kibbles, as long as there’s always plenty of fresh drinking water available. The crunching is good for their teeth, too. Brand TBD by cat’s taste.

Spending the morning catching up on what you’ve been up to lately and I adore this. You should be so proud!! What a happy home.

Binky looks great. Congratulations. Avery certainly looks accepting, which is great. But I don’t know that I would characterize her as “gentle”!

OMG this whole thing makes me SO HAPPY! Thank you for rescuing Binky.

Loved the video. Binky is coming along so well. Love the dog and cat playing together and you too, Kevin. Binky looks so healthy now from when you first picked her up. She has found a forever home. xo

Such a wonderful way to start my Sunday! As I am currently pet-less, this gives me a tiny touch of having a kitty. Avery certainly is taking to the role of ‘kitten mom’ beautifully! Isn’t Mother Nature an amazing thing for her to know just what to do with a tiny kitten! It truly warms my heart to see how healthy Binky looks – full of energy, spunk, nice round tummy, and playful!!
Eagerly awaiting a good report from the vet!
Susan says
Wonderful! A couple suggestions. Furniture-we have scratching pads and cat trees in the house which our cats love to use. Cat food-a friend suggested TikiCat mousse sticks when our cat wouldn’t eat after surgery. She loves the tuna flavor. It’s more of the consistency of baby food than a pate. We’re currently using it to give her medication.

Love It, Lucky Binky and Avery to have you in their life.

Thank you for sharing! So fun to watch these two.

Thank you for sharing those Kevin. I’m so happy Binky is growing up to be a healthy, happy kitty. Avery is doing her part in raising a proper kitty. I rescued a cat but he was much older but he is a love, regardless. A friend emailed me a video of a rescue of a bald eagle yesterday and I wanted to share it with you. It’s quite moving. Thanks for all you do and share. Ellin

When you posted the first video (the 50% one) and I heard that caution, I thought – but look at those eyes. Undernourished, yes. Uninterested in living, definitely not. Thank you for your succor and love. She is thanking you with dividends. Sweet thing –

Totally adorable!!!! Avery is a WONDERFUL mother! Amazing!

Kevin, this is just wonderful to see! Looking at her clear eyes and chubby little tummy, Binky looks so very healthy now. Thank you Kevin for all you have done in saving this little kitten. Without you, she surely would not have survived. (hugs)

Thank you for sharing this! I love how Avery takes care of Binky. I took care of a 200 lb Siberian Husky for a while that adored kittens and cats. He would protect them at all cost! Not all dogs have this reaction. Binky has changed so much. She us beautiful. You are doing an incredible job.
Victoria says
You are such good pet parents! I loved watching Binky and Avery together. Thanks for sharing!

Always something yummy AND fun.

What fun watching Binky and Avery.
Binky’s eyes are magnificent. So happy for little Binky that she has found such a good home. Avery looks like she is having the time of her life playing with “her” new kitten

Wow! What a difference a few weeks make. The first video of when you found and were trying to save Binky, she looks so frail and subdued, and one can tell she really doesn’t feel well at all. Now she’s alert and boisterous! Tremendous transformation! Be proud of your good works! <3
Animals teach us so much and love so dearly when we treat them right.
Thank you for rescuing Binky!

Binky is so beautiful! I wouldn’t be surprised if Avery and Binky become sleeping buddies. My cats and dogs always got along. It has been my experience that if they are introduced slowly and in the right way they will become buds. So happy for you all.
Nancy says
Thanks for the update! I, too, can (and have) watched pets play…it is very entertaining as you say. Binky and Avery will be buds forever. Binky is so bright-eyed now…what a beautiful little girl!
Jane says
It is great to see that Avery is so loving toward Binky! I agree with others who said – what a happy home. I hope you have good report from the vet. Do you have another cat(s) to introduce Binky to as well? If so, I will be interested to hear how that goes. Thank you for sharing the updates.
Penelope Roberts says
Avery & The Binkster will be friends for life. What a wonderful parent you are to them!

What a bright spot in my day watching Binky progress! Thanks for sharing.

WOW…totally engaged, wide-eyed, bundle of …e-n-e-r-g-y…. LOVE your videos and both your babies!! Were you able to catch Mama cat yet??
MickeyC. says
I loved the video, Binky and Avery are adorable!! A word of caution, don’t teach Binky to attack fingers or toes, under the covers or not, or you will be sorry when she grows up. We did that with our first kitty and she would attack whenever she saw ANY movement under the covers etc. With her grown up claws and teeth it hurts so bad and by then you can’t UNteach her. The best thing is have her attack cat toys, ex. a feather on the end of a stick etc. There are literally hundreds of cat toys available. God BLESS all 4 of you. Have fun and you are right, watching them is more fun than any TV show. Keep your videos coming please.

Never enough Binky! So happy to see Avery so happy – she loves caring for her baby, and she knows just what to do. What fun for all of you, and for all of us, too. Thanks so much for sharing this sweet girl with us, Kevin.

Oh Kevin! How utterly adorable! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this update and thank Heaven, Binky is growing beautifully. Avery and Binky….a perfect match. Love you all and your kind hearts. Big hugs to y’all!
Mariska L says
You’ve done a great job with Binky. She looks healthy and happy and her and Avery get along so well. Their friendship is a wonderful example for us all.
Carla Carpenter says
Love Binky! Thanks for sharing.
Merry says
Great job with Binky! She looks wonderful. As does Avery! But Avery is licking Binky like she’s a much larger puppy. Its got to be hard on Binky’s still small body. Can you curb Avery’s very excellent mommy enthusiasm until Binky is larger and the two will be a more equal match? Thanks Kevin for sharing your generous spirit and enthusiasm with us all – for animals, the plant kingdom, and delicious meals!
Palyn says
Thanks for sharing—I could have watched that for hours! So good to see Binky thriving and having feisty fun. If you haven’t yet started clipping Binky’s nails, ask your vet to show you how. It’s best to get started while she’s so young, and with trimmed nails, she’ll find it easier to climb, and your sweaters and upholstery will stay in better shape. Hope the vet is impressed with Binky’s progress and your pet parenting prowess!
Donna Todd says
The first thing I recognized in the video which told me that all was well was that unmistakable purring. Binky and Avery are both two very fortunate animals but the real blessing will be upon her humans. These fur babies know how to love beyond measure.
Christine in MD says
I’m dying of cuteness right now!
Fran says
I just love Binky and Avery! They will be great friends. Thank you for sharing. There is something wrong with people who don’t like animals.
Patricia A. Holmes says
My husband and I just loved watching Binky and Avery play with your delightful comments in the background. It’s such a cuteness overload and we’re looking forward to seeing many more play sessions with you, Avery and Binky. The vet will be more than pleased with Binky’s progress.
Suzanne K says
I was hoping for a progress report from the vet visit this week?!! Hope everything is wonderful!!!
Cathy says
What a wonderful job you are doing. Binky is certainly thriving. Congratulations to all!
