Here’s a bouquet you can make from a sprays of white pine and a handful of tulips. My friend Sue brought this arrangement to the house earlier this month.

Merry Christmas to you and yours too, Kevin! Your house looks amazing! I have a question: does potting soil lose it's freshness like milk does? I found a bag that I might have had about a year. I'd like to use it for paperwhite bulbs!

Judy – hello! Yes, you can use old potting soil for your paperwhites. However, if the soil has completely dried out (and it probably has), first moisten it with a cup or so of very hot (or even boiling) water. Seal the bag, and let the peatmoss absorb this liquid for 30 minutes. Otherwise, dried-out peatmoss is very difficult to rewet.
