IF YOU VISIT ME JUST NOW, you’ll find an invigorating flower arrangement on the small table near my staircase. Anne Schomaker, a dear friend who is also a floral-designer, made this scented still-life by combining greens from her garden with choice flowers from the florist. You can design a similar arrangement for your own home:
Anne used an old, 9-inch-tall glass vase for the arrangement. Floral foam, cut to fit the vase, holds the stems in place. (More about floral foam, and where to buy it, in this fun post.)
Tip: For the sake of longevity, florist-obtained roses should be purchased when the petals are just starting to open.
Tip: To get the biggest bang from your Stargazer lily buck, purchase the stems in bud, not bloom. The petals will open over a period of 3-5 days.
