Gardening! We’ve been planting cooler weather crops, cleaning out flower beds, repairing the lawn, sharing plants & enjoying micro greens from our cold frame. Ah, the taste of spring! Oh, our backs & knees! It feels so good to have winter gone & enjoy warmer temps & sunshine. Enjoy springtime Kevin & your guests.

Nancy has been working in the back yard planting away. Our vertical gardens are doing great. Our raised beds also great. Fairy garden’s marvelous. Monday we get a full truck load of Cyprus mulch to spread in the front beds and side as well as some of the others. Gonna take all day but when done looks great. Cyprus mulch helps keep the bugs (and termites) away! Never, ever use pine bark.
Watch the rain come down and the grass grow up – again!

As one of your devotees who lives in hawaii, garden chores are a little bit different over here. We are training the lilikoi vines which are threatening to take over the yard onto trellises, and I am turning my creativity towards turning a beautiful volcanic rock with a big depression in it into a small fountain. And washing dogs at the Hawaii Humane Society!

This weekend I am setting my front porch up for summer. I take my large house plants out to the porch. Then I set up cozy seating area and sometimes people just sit and never make it into the house. It’s a nice place to watch birds and just think.

Trying to get all my summer ideas down on paper like what Im going to plant in my flower beds, that is what I have room for. Also my garden had alot of trouble last year with some kind of mold or fungus so I need to keep a vigilant I on it this year. Research is something I need to be doing more of,everyone says you have to use a spray from the beginning but I dont want to do that I even planted heirloom seeds .So I need to find the answer some where. Research…research…
I am watching my plants grow under this rain! Some protected by my table umbrella, and some by my little greenhouse. I am slow cooking stewing meat with veggies to serve over Astana with a salad. I sure would like a mixer for baking! I use a hand held 20 years old probably. Love your posts!
